Narrative:
All grade levels and the district as a whole met adequate yearly progress (AYP)
standards as set forth in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. Grade 4, 6 and 7 data are
added this year for the first time with very good results being achieved by our students.
Grades 3 and 11 are the only grade that did not show significant improvement. Grade 3
results can be attributed to changes in the assessment instrument and scoring standards in
the second year of assessment at this grade level. We continue to work on overall
improvement through focused professional development and supervision as well as
collaborative efforts on the part of all individuals. Grade 5 and Grade 8 data showed
significant gains in student achievement levels. Graduation and Attendance rates are
steady and strong. Overall, we are very pleased with the results this year and will strive
to show continued improvement in future years.
