Dear Families The Commodore Perry soccer team is looking for your help. As you can imagine it takes a lot of work and many hands to make a soccer season successful. I am asking for your support. Since some of the team's banquet money comes from the concession stand, we need parent volunteers to work and assist with the concession stand during home games. We need people to prepare food, set-up the stand, run the stand during games, and clean up afterward. If you can help with any of this please contact Denise Wasser at 724-588-1528. Practices and matches are held at Commodore Perry High School and some players that come from Greenville cannot drive yet, we will need people who are willing to drive the players to practice/matches or lend their vehicles to their own licensed son/daughter. If you can do this, please contact coach Chad Gongaware at 724-588-3007. The program is also looking for individuals whom are willing to serve as a junior high coach and assistant junior high coach for grades six, seven, and eight. Because we often receive players with little experience, offering a junior high team may help to build the skills of our players at a younger age and help the program to become more competitive. If you are interested, please contact Chad Gongaware. Soccer is a sport of many seasons. We have the opportunity to play indoor as well. We will need coaches for these teams. Indoor is offered for those players whom are not involved in any other winter school sports and offers an alternative to sitting on the couch. The season can last one to three sessions depending on the coach and the team. Farmer Jim's in Cortland, Ohio, Y-Zone in Neshannock, or in Erie at the Family First Sports Complex are the three possible locations. Players sign up through the Greenville Area Soccer Association at the Greenville Recreation Center. In any one session we could have teams in the under 14, under 16, and under 19 age brackets.
