Mission Statement: The goal of the SAP is to assist students to succeed educationally and to help them to deal with barriers that impede success. The need exists for schools to recognize risk factories related to substance abuse, depression, suicide, etc. The school has a role in addressing behaviors that may affect health, safety, and welfare of any and all students. HOW to refer a student to the SAP team: 1. Students may share concerns regarding themselves or a classmate 2. Parents may contact the school to share concerns regarding their son or daughter 3. Teachers will follow the referral process b y completing appropriate paperwork.
A SAP team exists here within our high school Members of the team include Shani Eddy, Teacher Stacy Payne, Teacher Rachel Harold, Teacher Jay Carlson, Teacher Tom Wolbert, Teacher Jeff Keeling, Teacher Katie Miller, MCBHC Tonya Miller, JPO The above team members have completed specialized training to identify, refer, intervene, and support students at risk. Unless the student's health and/or safety is at risk, ALL team members are held to a confidentiality agreement and cannot release details about students who have been referred to SAP with anyone other than team members.
